Councillor David Carr elected to be next Mayor of Medway
Rainham North Councillor accepted election on March 3


David Carr, Councillor for Rainham North, has been elected to be the next Mayor of Medway.
At the Conservative Group Meeting held on March 3, Cllr Carr (pictured, left) was elected to be Mayor, along with Cllr Ted Baker (pictured, right) of Rochester, a previous Mayor, was elected to be the Deputy Mayor.
On accepting the election David said, "I will be seeking to influence all those who can make Medway a better place to live - to remove litter from our streets, graffiti fromour walls and the increasing incidence of crime."
Gillingham and Rainham Association Chairman, Brigita Amey, congratulated David and said that she would be certain that he would aquit his role with dignity which would refelect on the whole of the Medway community.
Members of the group celebrated his election at the Conservative Upper Club and David will take office in May.
