Councillor Chishti selected to fight election
Chishti beat off competition from over 100 applicants

Rainham Central Councillor Rehman Chishti has been adopted as the Parliamentary Candidate for Gillingham and Rainham.

At a special meeting of the Association on July 1, Reh Chishti received a standing ovation as it was announced he had beaten off competition from over 100 applicants to become Gillingham and Rainham Conservative's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate.

Reh Chishti promised that his campaign would start on July 2 as he stood in a dark suit with worn-out, light brown shoes - a trophy of his local election campaigning.
