Conservatives pledge to keep weekly waste collections
Conservative Council blamed for Labour Government plans

as

Labour candidates in next Thursday's Local Elections are blaming Medway's Conservative run council for plans being proposed by their own Government.

They are telling residents that the Conservatives will introduce fortnightly rubbish collections. This comes on a day when Whitehall has instructed Councils to "hush up" these plans.

The Government agency said, "The timing of the local elections may affect your thinking on when best to introduce this concept"

On hearing what that Labour Party is up to Cllr Rodney Chambers said,

"This just shows the panic that Labour candidates are in as they are finding that they are not welcome on the doorstep.

"Medway's Conservative run Council will retain its weekly refuse collection, only we can be trusted to preserve this service.

"Quite clearly if elected, Labour Councillors would do their Governments bidding".
