Sir David Frost (a former Gillingham boy himself) has backed Councillor Rehman Chishti to run the Isle of Wight Half Marathon, in order to raise money for the much needed St Margarets Church roof appeal fund.

Cllr Rehman Chishti met Sir David in his London office on Friday 20th April 2007. Sir David Frost said he was delighted to support Cllr Rehman Chishti in his bid to raise money for St Margarets Church roof appeal, and urged others to support him in such a worthy cause.

Councillor Rehman Chishti thanked Sir David for his support, and said he was loooking forward to running the half marathon, and thanked everyone who has supported him so far.  Earlier in the year Cllr Chishti successfully ran the Reading Half Marathon to raise money for local charities.

Cllr Chishti is looking for sponsors for his next run in August, raising money desperately needed by a seriously endangered St Margaret's Church. If you would like to support him, you can email him at raychsihti@hotmail.com or call 07703484504. You're sponorship could really make a difference in saving this vital part of the community.
