Rehman Chishti opposes dock storage of ammonium nitrate
Parliamentary candidate collects signatures for petition against proposal

Cllr Rehman Chishti has launched a campaign against proposals to store ammonium nitrate at Chatham Docks. Cllr Chishti said, "a large number of people raised this issue with me. I am firmly opposed to the storage of a potentially dangerous substance in residential areas".

David Carr, Councillor for Rainham North, has been elected to be the next Mayor of Medway. At the Conservative Group Meeting held on March 3, Cllr Carr was elected to be Mayor, along with Cllr Ted Baker of Rochester, a previous Mayor, was elected Deputy Mayor.

Last year Rehman Chishti ran a half marathon raising money for Gillingham Age Concern. The Gillingham Parliamentary Candidate for the Conservatives ran the Isle of Wight half marathon to help towards fundraising for the purchase of a new podietry chair.
